Google art project – high res viewing

One of my favorite European cities is Madrid, and I once went there alone for a few days, to visit the Prado and the two other galleries in a sort of golden triangle of culture, the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza and Museo Reina Sofia. The Thyssen-Bornemiza was free on the day I went and I was so pleased to be there. The collection is comprehensive and provides a wonderful chronological journey through European art that makes it both accessible and fascinating. The Reina Sofia has Picasso’s Guernica, and the Prado is just amazing with Hieronymous Bosch, Velazquez, and Goya’s incredible Black Paintings.
